JODY & GRANT, May 5th, 2012, Rimrock Resort Hotel I started my
Spring is here and the Bow Valley wedding season is underway. My first wedding in a while was a delight. Eric Daigle made a guest appearance as we documented the marriage of Jody & Grant of Calgary. Jody was born & raised in Banff and was keen to visit a couple of her favourite local sites during their portrait session. It was a fun challenge to work with some new backdrops and learn a little Banff history along the way.

Ladies love a man in uniform! And so do we. 
Our last two weddings have given us the opportunity to work with grooms decked out in something other than basic black.
The red dress uniform of Frederic, a member of our Canadian Forces, makes quite a sight against the snowy backdrop of the Rockies. His lovely bride Shari still wins the “most photogenic” contest though I believe

CAITLIN & JOSH, Emerald Lake Lodge, Feb. 18th, 2012
There are not many places on earth more magical in winter than Emerald Lake, B.C. We always count ourselves lucky when asked to document a wedding at the classic lodge on the shore of the lake, Canadian Rocky Mountain Resort’s Emerald Lake Lodge.
Caitlin & Josh of Castlegar, B.C. were joined by friends and family for a truly red & white wedding. The RCMP member & his beautiful bride negotiated six foot snowbanks so that we could make memorable portraits. The wedding was designed and planned by Sweet Occasions and I was lucky to be assisted by Tessa Perkins once again.

DUSTIN & CODY, St Georges in the Pines & Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, Feb. 11th, 2012
What a time Tessa Perkins & I had on Feb. 11th with a wonderful group from Texas! I got to know this warm, generous and easygoing crew over two days. We had great weather and a very photogenic couple allowing us to get some stunning images.
Dustin & Cody and their family and friends kicked up their heels in celebration at the reception held in the historic Mt Stephen Hall at the Banff Springs Hotel. The Hall looked spectacular and everything ran smoothly thanks to the great work of Connie and her crew at Elegant Banff Weddings. After the couple’s first dance under falling snow, the party really got going with the help of the Dino Martini’s, a rocking dance band from Calgary.
Thank you Cody & Dustin for letting Tessa and I be a part of your memorable wedding celebration !!

JUSTINE & CLAYTON, Fairmont Banff Springs, Jan. 7th, 2012
My first wedding of 2012 saw Tessa Perkins and I documenting the nuptials of a great couple, Justine & Clayton.
The first image below demonstrates what I see at every wedding…the teamwork & support exhibited by friends and family as they devote themselves to the bride and to each other as they prepare for the big moment.
The last image is a fabulous cake made by Cake Couture of Edmonton depicting the couple in action.

Puja & Sameer, Lake Louise, AB, Friday, Jan. 13th, 2012
Well Friday the 13th was a lucky day for one young man! Sameer contacted us just over a week ago seeking our help in documenting his planned marriage proposal to Puja during the couple’s first ever visit to the Rockies. He could not have chosen a much more romantic spot in the world then in front of the ice castle on frozen Lake Louise. I was very happy to have local photographer Kim Payant join me so that we could capture the moment from a couple of angles.
After Puja said YES!, we introduced ourselves and had a wonderful hour making portraits of a very photogenic couple!
Congrats to you both. Thanks for letting us be a part of this amazing moment in your love story!
